Senior Coaches
Rees warren
Rees started coaching East in 2004. He became Head Coach in 2006.
Rees has been involved with junior coaching for over 20 years. He started coaching junior volleyball at Brentwood VC back in 2002. He later became a Community Coach covering South West Essex in 2009 to 2013.

Rees currently coaches Ipswich Volleyball Club and assists at Tendring Volleyball Club.
​
Rees use to play at high level with London Lynx and has represented East and England at Junior level.
​
Little Known Fact:
​
Rees is one of the inclusive people who have played, refereed and coached at the Inter-Regional Championships.
​
He has also won the Indoor Inter-Regional Championships as a player and as a coach multiple times.
Alex porter
Alex has been an integral part of East for a number of years helping not just on the court, but also behind the scenes.
​
Alex has been involved with Volleyball since 1991.
​
Currently the Head Coach of Essex Rebels Volleyball Club and Head of Performance for University of Essex Volleyball Squads.

Alex has Captain Great Britain Volleyball
Alex chinery
Alex became an East coach in 2016.
He became Assistant Head Coach of the Eastern Regional Programme in 2019.
Alex has coached at high level with success at Team Essex Estonians to promotion from National Volleyball League Division 2 in 2018-19.
​
He now currently is Co-Head Coach of Essex Rebels Volleyball.
​
Little Known Fact:
​
Alex helped coach the U17 Men's Squad to victory in 2022 which makes him a player / coach winner.
